Why we started Sorted
Our co-founder, William, is a native of Louisiana and a graduate of Tulane University. Like so many families along the Gulf Coast, his family has experienced the upheaval of Hurricanes Katrina, Ida, Laura and, many others.
Those storms taught a hard lesson firsthand: poor preparation leads to greater loss. When everything you own is suddenly in a pile in the front yard, being able to prove what you owned can make a significant difference in how a claim is handled.
Sorted exists to make sure that proof already exists, long before you ever need it. We built the tool we wish our own families had when the storms hit.

William turned a lifetime of weather- and incident-related losses into the founding vision for Sorted. Having lived through Katrina and Ida, he understands the recovery gap not as a statistic, but as something his own family endured.
